It's not too exciting, but here it is:
I went into the hospital at 6am, 10/17 for a scheduled induction at 38wks 3days. They started my pitocin by 7am. I was 2 cm, 50% at that point. I began having some mild contractions within about 30 minutes. They slowly upped my pit every 30 minutes or so. My contractions got stronger and more regular, but progress was slow. I only gained a cm every couple hours. I got my epidural at 4cm. After that they broke my water. This was about 4pm. My contractions were much stronger, though I couldn't feel them much. MY epidural quit working 3 times and had to given manually. My doctor asked at this point if I wanted to give up and do a c-section because his on-call hours were ending(6pm). I, of course, said, "NO." I then gave him a hard time about sticking with me through two pregnancies, only to bail at the end of both. After I reached 5-6cm, I decided to call people (around 8:00pm) and tell them it would be late and I'd give them word of the baby in the morning. The nurse came back 15 minutes later and said I was 9cm. I don't know what changed, but Jacob was ready to make his appearance. She said, "Let me call Dr. Davis." (my doctor) Even though his call hours had ended, he had told the nurse that he really wanted to deliver my baby, and to call anyway. He's so sweet. He said he'd be there in 18 minutes and I'd have to wait. Sure enough, he was. And in 3 pushes (1 contractions) at 8:57pm, Jacob had entered the world. A beautiful baby boy, 6 lbs, 6 oz, and 19 inches.
